The activities of our Telecoms Group cover most aspects of the legal practice. The firm keeps a close eye on all recent regulatory developments in Telecoms Law, and, overall, on the market liberalisation of the previously state-controlled telecoms arena.
During recent years, Sarantitis Law Firm has gained trust and has taken the responsibility to represent leading firms in the Balkans and in Europe in the above-mentioned fields.
Our role as telecoms specialists is not limited to Commercial Law concerns, but also, as highly-regarded professionals in the field, in the progressive formation of the relevant national laws and regulations. More specifically, the firm has provided extensive comments and support in the drafting of the recent National Telecommunications Law, as well as the new Telecommunications law of Montenegro.

Sarantitis Law Firm is particularly strong in the e-Commerce & IT sectors, given our involvement in a number of major internet law cases and contracts that have marked the development of the market in the Greek emerging economy.
The firm actually holds a leading position in providing high expertise in drafting and negotiating successfully a full spectrum of e-commerce and IT projects. Our partners and associates are well versed both in technological issues involved and terminology, thus being always in a position to understand the needs of any technology project concerned and, as a result, provide comprehensive solutions to our clients.
The firm foresaw the inevitable growth of the e-Commerce and IT sector and has set up this dedicated group of lawyers, as from the mid 90s, when we were asked to establish the first Internet Service Providers (ISPs) in Greece and offer legal assistance on several subsequent content / license agreements, whilst ensuring that all regulatory and privacy issues are dealt with effectively.
Currently our e-Commerce group of lawyers advises clients ranging from NASDAQ listed multinationals and Greek hi-tech leaders to start-ups.
The broad scope of our services covers advising on content development and licensing, technology transfer, domain names' disputes, privacy release, online financial services, e-banking, digital signatures / authentication in the context of online contracting, defamation, internet auctions, taxation as well as the majority of contracts involved in the traditional B2B and B2C joint ventures and transactions.
Media & Entertainment
Sarantitis Law Firm has been actively involved in media law. Our firm services several media clients, including major broadcast network affiliate associations, TV broadcasters, satellite carriers, radio stations, newspapers & magazines, as well as internet portal & vortals. The firm has also gained significant expertise through advising several entertainment and multinational advertising companies, as well as a number of artists.
Our media & entertainment group has provided advice on the acquisition of various media corporations, their operations and compliance with the complex Greek regulatory regime. We have represented those clients before the Radio-TV National Council, the Ministry of Press & Media as well as the competent Courts / Administrative Authorities. Modern products of the media & entertainment industry, such as internet gambling, lotteries, interactive advertising, pay-per-view systems, radio-webcasting, voice-over-ip (internet telephony) and mobile (wap) gaming also form part of our expertise.
Special reference must be made to the group's practice in the context of defamation lawsuits, where we enjoy great reputation and hold a great record of wins.
